Morris Jeff Community School has established a scholarship fund in memory of Ms. Augustine Greenwood. The Augustine Greenwood Memorial Scholarship will support a graduating high school senior from Morris Jeff Community School.
Ms. Greenwood, the matriarch of her family, was loved by many. Her presence filled rooms with warmth, joy, and unconditional love. Family meant the world to Augustine, so it was to no surprise that she embraced motherhood gracefully. She deeply cared for her neighbors and her community and would often take on the mother and grandmother role to many she met. Ms. Greenwood's daughter, Geraldine Greenwood-Lashley, mother to Corey Lashley ('22) said that her mother was so proud to see her children and grandchildren graduate and her mother believed in the pursuit of higher education. Therefore, it is fitting for Ms. Greenwood to be honored by our school community through a memorial scholarship fund.
